I considered doing this particular Friday Five back when [livejournal.com profile] lilairen did it (and I had a bitch of a time finding that post, let me tell you, because ... uh, I was looking in the wrong month), but I'm lazy, so I refrained. Now [livejournal.com profile] tiassa's gone and done it too, which I suppose is sign enough for me.

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?

One assumes that my father's ancestors come from somewhere in Africa, though it's impossible to tell where from: I surmise from his name that they were slaves, because there's a limited number of ways for a black man to come by a Scottish surname. (Though most of the people on that side of the family are so racist it would amuse me if they'd gotten it by marriage, I think it goes back too far for that to be feasible.) There's an Arab or two in there somewhere, and an Indian — the kind they make in India — but I think I'm related to the former by marriage, not blood, and know of the latter only by hearsay. It's hard for me to keep track; I never see these people.

My mother hails from Puerto Rico, so my lineage on that side is Amerind and Spanish, and if you go back far enough, Moorish. Yes, if I were Jewish I would be the single most persecutable person on the face of the Earth. I wear glasses, too.

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit?

None of them, particularly. I'm not a travel sort of person, and they're all way too warm. And technically, if you count only on the country level, I've already visited Puerto Rico.... There are parts of northern Europe I'd like to see, but those don't count.

3. Which would you least like to visit? Why?

Africa. Which isn't a country, no matter how elementary-school text books try to make it look like one, but I still don't want to visit any part of it. The whole land mass has become tainted for me by association with the subset of people who are Reclaiming Their Primal Chocolate Ebony Heritage, which I find slightly ludicrous but acceptable, who insist that I must do the same, which is not okay. I'm the only person who has permission to decide what culture I belong to, and I don't appreciate being hijacked for other people's causes.

Also, did I mention too warm?

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage?

Screw my heritage. I barely do anything to celebrate or recognize my birthday.

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)?

I can't name any names, but they came over the Bering land bridge about twenty thousand years ago and reached the area now known as the United States some indeterminate time later. Then there was a bit of a lull, then Spaniards.

Dream says, "Desire!"
Dream% Desire.
Desire says, "Dream!"
Desire @dildos Dream.
Dream says, "So, speaking of such things...."
Dream says, "I know you've been dying to hear a story about me and anal penetration."
Desire says, "You know I have."
Delirium says, "Ooh, more?"
Dream says, "I got an email from someone in Korea."
Dream says, "She wanted me to come to Korea, on my own dollar, to star in a "All gay bestiality porno with great class. Only the purebreeded dogs.""
Desire says, "And you jumped at the opportunity, because really, how often does a guy recieve an offer like that?"
Dream says, "Of course, "Star" here means "Get fucked by a dog repeatedly"."
Dream says, "Oh, absolutely. I even priced plane tickets to Korea."
Dream says, "$1500 round trip, including the flight to the coast first."
Desire says, "That's not half bad."
Dream says, "But a little more than I want to spend to get sodomized when I could walk down the 16th Street Mall and do it for free with people of only slightly less dog pedigree."
Desire says, "Aww. Where's your sense of fun?"
Dream says, "It only speaks English."

Sniff. I missed you, you dirty bastard.
