I just discovered this list of ages of consent in various places (assorted countries, plus regional laws in the US and Australia). I'm particularly amused by the abundance of places in which the age of consent for male/male sex is higher than the age for male/female and female/female sex (actually, quite often there's no law at all about the latter, even in countries where male/male sex is outright illegal). And I don't know what to make of New Mexico, where the ages of consent for gay and straight sex are thirteen and seventeen respectively. That seems unAmerican.
In other news, I'm considering sprucing up the place a bit, getting a less aggressively complimentary color scheme. This is almost completely irrelevant, because so far as I know I'm the only one who ever sees my aggressively complimentary color scheme, but I feel compelled to mention it because there might be a discussion and that would mean I got to put off doing the actual work.
